CALL FOR PAPERS

The “American Literature” Area Chair of the American Culture Association seeks individual paper proposals for presentation at the  National Conference of the Popular Culture Association and American Culture Association.

Submissions that explore patterns, representations, historical implications, and themes pertaining to any aspect of American Literature from Early American Literature to contemporary issues are desired from scholars, educators, and students at all levels. Topics treating related subjects concerning race, ethnicity, and gender, as well as topics that explore aspects of American Literature as it intersects with other popular disciplines (such as fashion, film, music, theatre, the visual arts, etc.) are welcome.

Interested individuals are asked to submit a proposal of no more than 250 words (including presentation title) and complete contact information (name, institutional affiliation [if applicable], mail and e-mail addresses, and contact telephone number) All sessions typically run ninety minutes and include four presenters, so each presenter is allowed fifteen minutes, with the remaining time used for discussion with the audience.
