We are considering proposals for individual papers. Sessions are scheduled in 1½ hour slots, typically with four papers or speakers per standard session. Presentations should not exceed 15 minutes. As always, proposals addressing any topic at the intersection of culture and circuses are welcome.
Circus, a continuously evolving tradition of live entertainment, lends itself to scholarship from many perspectives. Topics of interest include but are not limited to: Menageries, Sideshows, Contemporary Circuses, Aerialists, Historic Relevance, Worlds Fair Exhibitions, Logistics of Circus Transportation & Production, Clowning, Circus & Sideshow Documentary Screenings, Performance Art, P.T. Barnum & Other Promoters, Gaffs, Pitch Cards, and Social Media.

ALL submissions must be made through the conference submission site. For individual papers, please submit a title and a fifty word abstract. Note: Only one paper may be submitted to the conference.
