Check this program carefully. I would like to say that I have added all the changes sent to me to date; unfortunately, I had an unfortunate mishap when saving this document and I'm not sure that all my changes saved; so, if you sent a change to me prior to this moment that isn't made to this program, send it again.(There can't be many of you, if any.) If you are not on the program, if you are unsure of your time because your chair told you differently, if you must be moved to another panel, or if you need immediate help of any kind, call me at (517) 618-9659. I thank you for your patience.

President’s Message:
Remembering Ray Browne
in St Louis, 2010
I have been asked a number of times what the PCA/ACA will do in remembrance of Ray Browne. Members of the PCA/ACA Board discussed this question in Detroit at the Midwest PCA/ACA this fall.
Ray’s passing will, of course, be marked in the program with photo and obituary, but obviously more is needed to mark the death of this farsighted and inspirational individual.
One of the decisions taken in Detroit was to establish the Ray Browne Memorial Lecture. The inaugural speaker will be Professor George Lipsitz of the University of California, Santa Barbara. The talk is entitled "Midnight at the Barrelhouse: Why Popular Culture Matters Now.” The lecture will be presented late on Thursday before the PCA/ACA reception.
We will also be having a session entitled “Remembrances of Ray.” I envision a free-flowing discussion with lots of short statements. Since I know that many people want to talk, please contact me if you would like to speak. Just email me at: gburns@niu.edu.
Finally, we plan a volume in honor of Ray. The exact nature has not been determined, but we have a number of ideas. Final decisions will be made at the conference when we can all get together. Your suggestions are welcome.
