Generation X

All Proposals & Abstracts Must Be Submitted Through The PCA Database.
Please submit a proposal to only one area at a time. Exceptions and rules.


We invite submissions from individuals and organized panels (3 or 4 persons), focusing on any issue related to Generation X experiences, culture, literatures, etc.

Generation X is the demographic group of Americans born from 1965-1979. This is a unique generation on many levels with provocative experiences and insights. Subjects of interest might include, but are not limited to:

  • Generation X cultural production/consumption: literature, film, music, etc.
  • Generation X identity and realities (then and now)
  • Generation X memories and nostalgia
  • Generation X employment/retirement issues
  • Generation X politics, race and gender
  • Generation X and technology

Inquiries about possible papers or proposals for round table sessions or full panels are also welcomed and encouraged.

Please submit an abstract by October 1, 2015 of no more than 250 words of your proposed paper and a short 50-word bio with contact information at Instructions for logging in and submitting proposals appear on the home screen of the site. Instructions are available also here:

If your paper is accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter, and information on registration, PCA/ACA membership, hotel accommodations, etc.
