CALL FOR PAPERS
The SPORTS AREA of the Popular Culture Association and the American Culture Association invites proposals for individual or panel presentations at the annual meeting of
POPULAR CULTURE ASSOCIATION & AMERICAN CULTURE ASSOCIATION

Especially encouraged are proposals related to Southern California’s marquis sports teams (e.g., Padres, Chargers, Clippers, Rams, Dodgers, Angels), sporting events (e.g., beach volleyball championships and the Long Beach Grand Prix), and sports venues (Petco Park, Dodger Stadium, Staples Center, The Pond, etc.). Proposals about other teams and conferences (e.g., the PAC-12, the Mountain West, the Golden State League, and the PCL) are also encouraged.
Proposals on topics on all areas of sports history, literature, ethics, sociology, and current issues are also welcomed.
Presentations should be completed within twenty minutes and should stimulate audience questions and discussion. Presentations utilizing various media are especially welcomed.
The deadline for a 250-word abstract is October 1, 2016. Inquiries about possible papers or proposals for sessions can be directed to either of the area co-chairs listed below. Presentation at the conference requires current membership in the PCA or the ACA.
All proposals and paper submissions should be sent electronically through the PCA Database (http://ncp.pcaaca.org).
