2021 Popular Culture Association Annual (PCA) Conference June 2-5, 2021​

The Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association annual conference will be held June 2-5, 2021 in Boston, Massachusetts. Scholars from a wide variety of disciplines will meet to share their Popular Culture research and interests.  


The Biographies Area is soliciting papers that examine the connections between biography and popular culture. Papers and full panel presentations regarding any aspect of popular culture and biography are encouraged. Potential topics might include:

– Biography and entertainment, art, music, theater
– Biography and film
– Biography and criminal justice
– Television programs about biography
– Biography and urban legends
– Biography and folklore
– Biography and literature
– Scholarly Biography
– Controversial Biography
– Psychoanalysis and Biography
– Historical Biography
– Political Biography
– Autobiography

Sessions are scheduled in 1½ hour slots, typically with four papers or speakers per standard session.  Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes.

Submissions will only be accepted through the PCA website. Individuals must be current, paid members to submit to the conference.

Virtual Conference


All presenters must be current, paid members of the PCA and registered for the conference. Non-presenters who attend the full conference must also pay membership fees.  

Refund requests must be submitted in writing. Full or partial refunds will be processed according to the following schedule:
Requested by Feb 1: 100% refund
Requested by Feb 7: 75% refund
Requested by Feb 14: 50% refund
Requested by Feb. 21: 25% refund
After Feb. 28: 0% refund

Membership fees are non-refundable.
