The SPORTS AREA of the Popular Culture Association and the American Culture Association invites proposals for individual or panel presentations at the annual meeting of

 

POPULAR CULTURE ASSOCIATION & AMERICAN CULTURE ASSOCIATION

June 2-5, 2021​

 


Presentations related to sporting events, venues, and teams, past and present, in Boston or the New England region are especially encouraged. But topics on all areas of sports (history, identities, politics, literature, film, ethics, media, technology, sociology, current issues, etc.) are welcomed.

Presentations should be completed within twenty minutes and should stimulate audience questions and discussion. Presentations utilizing various media are especially welcomed. Panel proposals of 4 speakers and/or discussion panels of 4-6 participants each are also encouraged.

 Inquiries about possible papers or proposals for sessions can be directed to either of the area co-chairs listed below. Presentation at the conference requires current membership in the PCA or the ACA.

All proposals and paper submissions must be sent electronically through the PCA Database (http://conference.pcaaca.org). Individuals must be current, paid members to submit to the conference.

If your paper is accepted, you will receive an acceptance letter, including information related to membership, registration, and hotel accommodations.

PCA Conference in Seattle, WA

 

All presenters must be current, paid members of the PCA and registered for the conference. Non-presenters who attend the full conference must also pay membership fees.

To attend the National Conference, members must pay the membership fee and the registration fee.   

The last day for all refunds is February 15, 2022. No refund requests will be honored after this date. Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
