Presentations on all areas of sports scholarship - history, media, technology, economics, philosophy, politics, sociology, literature, cultural studies - are welcomed.
Topics related to sporting events, venues, and teams, past and present, in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest are especially encouraged. Proposals about American sports history, sports and political expression, and sports and gender, are also invited.
Presentations should be completed within twenty minutes and should stimulate audience questions and discussion. Presentations utilizing various media are especially welcomed. Panel proposals of 4 speakers and/or discussion panels of 4-6 participants each are also encouraged.
The deadline for a 250-word abstract is November 15, 2021. Inquiries about possible papers or proposals for sessions can be directed to either of the area co-chairs listed below. Presentation at the conference requires current membership in the PCA or the ACA.
