We invite presentations about War after 1945, covering any of the following general topics with special attention to popular culture:
Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan; Cold War and Global War on Terrorism; military interventions and peacekeeping missions involving Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
Presentations may focus on writers and artists: original fiction, poetry, memoirs, drama, art, music, film and television.
All approaches will be honored: interdisciplinary, multicultural, ethnicity, gender, film, literature, history, sociology, political science, media, rhetoric, folklore, and oral history.
For consideration, please send an abstract of 125 to 250 words that includes presenter name, department and university affiliation (if appropriate), mailing address, phone number(s), and e-mail address. Submissions must be through the PCA web site at ncp.pcaaca.org.
You may also submit a proposal for a fully-formed panel of four papers focused on a central theme (but each presenter must submit their proposals individually).
