2022 National Conference

A Message from the President

I am very pleased to announce that the 2022 National Conference has been moved into a virtual setting. The dates of the conference remain the same, April 13-16, 2022. The dangers of the COVID-19 variants, vaccination issues, and the pandemic-related funding cuts that many of us are experiencing all prompted this decision. I am happy to say that we now have a safe, accessible, and affordable venue without the risks involved in travelling.

Exciting and energetic, our 2022 event promises great conversations. Back by popular demand, the platform that hosted last year’s virtual conference will be even more user-friendly. We are working to ensure there will be more opportunities to view panels, visit with old friends and publishers, and network with new colleagues. As promised, our special celebration of the Popular Culture Association’s fifty years will continue. Our Book Room will offer the best publications and publishing opportunities in popular culture. We are also ensuring there will be opportunities for interested researchers to visit and discuss Seattle’s legendary, life-changing artifacts and culture virtually.

We are accepting proposals now. I look forward to seeing you online and listening to your papers in April. I wish you all well in these challenging times.

Sue Matheson, President
