Marshall Fishwick Travel Grant

The Marshall Fishwick Travel Grant to Popular Culture Studies / American Culture Studies Research Collections

This travel grant is named for the late Marshall Fishwick, one of the pioneers in the study of Popular Culture Studies and American Culture Studies who helped found the Popular Culture Association.

This grant is open to both International scholars and United States-based academics. Applicants should complete the application form below email to the Endowment Director Mike Marsden, no later than no later than November 1, 2018.

For 2019, the Endowment Board has decided to award four grants of $1,000 each.

Please note that individuals may apply for only one grant per cycle. Those applying for more than one will be disqualified.

Step 2 – Provide answers to the following questions in the text box at the bottom of this form. Your answer should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words.:

  1. Indicate the identity and location of a specific Popular Culture Studies or American Culture Studies collection and its content.

  2. Provide a narrative statement of the overall focus, purpose, and research methodology of the project.

  3. Provide reasons for which on-site research at this collection is needed or desirable in terms of the project.

  4. Indicate projected outcomes, use or application the research project (book, article(s), completion of dissertation curriculum or course development, exhibit).
