next years PCA, two possible conversation topics 0 C. Desmarais Hello everyone, Chicago wasn't our best turnout, but so be it. I know for many of you, there were many varied reasons why you could not attend. Well, next year is in New Orleans (Tuesday, April 16th- Friday, April 19th). Why ending on the Friday? As the New Orleans Jazz Festival (or one of the New Orleans Jazz fests) starts on either that Friday, or the Saturday. So, probably have to reserve hotel rooms as soon as possible once the news comes out. I have just looked in to booking online (I didn't call the 1800 number though), and likely because it is more than a year out, the online booking doesn't work. No idea, but they do hold a block of rooms for our conference. At any rate, I am writing to hear about which topics you would like to see in the proposal. Any suggestions? You can email me: claude.desmarais@ubc.ca And otherwise, if you want to start a discussion thread here, we can do so. Any thoughts on Nicaragua taking Germany to the International Court of Justice in Den Hague on the charges of supporting genocide by supplying arms to Israel. Germany has denied all charges. By the way, I like how the pianist Igor Levitt is approaching this whole tragedy. I might disagree with my friends (also Palestinian friends), but we respect each others opinion. On another note, in case you are interested, and not yet seen it, a Hamburg Research Group has created an online guide to the colonial Erbe Hamburgs. I found it extremely interesting, and also a great guide for a recent visit to Hamburg: https://kolonialismus.blogs.uni-hamburg.de/app-koloniale-orte-ios-android/ Interest in other topics (andere Themen)? Los, schreiben Sie 'was!
