Kathy Merlock Jackson is Professor of Media and Communication at Virginia Wesleyan University, where she teaches courses in media studies and children’s culture, coordinates the media and communication internship program and childhood studies certificate program, advises the Ethics Bowl team, and serves as immediate past president of the campus chapter of AAUP. Their son Nicholas and his Parisian-born wife Lucie are artists living in Chicago.
