Call For Papers

The Gender and Media Studies area of the Popular Culture Association is considering proposals for paper and/or panels relating to issues of gender and any area of mediated communication.

Gender issues could include but are not limited to areas such as research on gender differences, men and women’s studies, masculinity and femiminity, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Mediated communication topics could include but are not limited to the following topics: television, film, music, reality television, advertising, and social media.

All theories, methods, and scholarly approaches are accepted.  Topics must be related to both the gender and media concepts for the Gender and Media Studies area.   

Interested individuals are asked to submit an abstract of no more than 250 words (including paper title) and complete contact information (name, institutional affiliation, mail and email addresses, and telephone number.
