Dear PCA/ACA community: We, the Elections Committee, invite nominations for the 2026 PCA elections. Please see below information pertaining to instructions, deadlines, and available positions. DeadlinesAll nominations and supporting materials must be received by 15 February 2026, 11:59 pm EDT. Elections will open 22 February and will end 8 March 2026 at 11:59 pm EDT. All material should be delivered to committee chair Sherry Ginn. Candidates will be notified of their status by 14 March 2026. The following is a list of positions currently open for nominations. All positions carry three-year terms, commencing at the end of the 2026 Atlanta conference and terminating at the end of the 2029 conference (location TBD). There are four seats seeking nominations: Vice President for FinanceThe Vice President for Finance is responsible for the fiduciary oversight of the conservation of the PCA operating budget and finances. The Vice President for Finance holds a subordinate position to the President and reports to the President. The Vice President for Finance’s authority flows from the Governing Board. The duties of Vice President for Finance include but are not limited to:
Qualifications for the Vice President of FinanceTo be nominated for this position, an individual must have been a member of the PCA for the five years prior to the nomination. In addition, the proposed Vice President should have completed at least two years of service with the organization prior to their nomination. Opportunities include service on an appropriate PCA committee, such as the Elections, Ethics, BOM, Awards, Endowment, or Student Engagement Committee; service as an Area Chair or Co-Chair; proposing and running a Special Topics Area for a particular conference; or service on the Governing Board of one of the PCA’s regional organizations. In addition, candidates for the Vice President of Finance must demonstrate a minimum of five years of professional experience and training in the field of finance and/or accounting with experience creating and implementing budgets, cost tracking and forecasting, knowledge of standard accounting practices, fundraising, and strategic planning. If no candidates meet these qualifications, the Elections Committee and the Board will consider the totality of the candidates’ experience in the business and financial fields. Qualifications for the position must be met by the deadline for nominations. Term of Office and ServiceThree years with possibility of re-election for a total of 6 years. The VP Finance is expected to serve at least 5 hours per week on PCA business as well as attend scheduled meetings. The Leadership Team (consisting of the President, Past President, and the VPs) meets weekly with the Etherio Management Company; the Leadership team also meets weekly. Governing Board meetings are held monthly, and the Endowment Committee meets quarterly. Board Trustee (3 positions available)A trustee is an elected voting member of the Governing Board, with specific duties as assigned by the President or Chair of the Governing Board or a Governing Board committee. Trustees have the same rights and responsibilities as other board members. Trustees actively serve on the Governing Board, participate in strategic planning, and vote on PCA matters. Trustees are assigned to chair a committee by the President, unless elected to the position of Board Chair or Secretary. Qualifications for TrusteesTo be nominated for a Trustee position, an individual must have been a member in good standing of the PCA for the five years prior to their nomination. In addition, the proposed Trustee should have completed at least two years of service with the organization prior to their nomination. Opportunities include service on an appropriate PCA committee, such as the Elections, Ethics, BOM, Awards, Endowment, or Student Engagement Committee; service as an Area Chair or Co-Chair; proposing and running a Special Topics Area for a particular conference; or service on the Governing Board of one of the PCA’s regional organizations.
